Wholemeal Short Pastry
  • 2 cups wholemeal plain flour
  • 250g butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup wheatgerm
  • ¼ cup water
  1. Mix flour, salt and wheatgerm in a bowl.
  2. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Gradually add the water and mix to a firm dough with a knife.
  4. Knead pastry on a lightly floured board.
