- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 60ml ml milk
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons castor sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter
- Sift flours and salt into a bowl.
- Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Beat egg, milk and sugar together.
- Make a well in the centre of dry ingredients and gradually add egg mixture, stirring with a knife to make a dry dough.
- ,5 Turn on to a lightly floured board and knead lightly.
- Use as required.
