- Sift flour, soda, cinnamon, salt and ginger into a bowl.
- Rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Mix in sugar.
- Beat egg with golden syrup. Add to dry ingredients
- Mix to a firm dough.
- Roll into balls approximately 2½ cm diameter.
- Place on greased trays. Allow room for spreading.
- Bake in a moderately slow oven for approximately 15 minutes, '
- Allow to cool on trays.
