Buying a new oven

Postby anny on Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:47 am

Hey everyone.
My oven broke down recently, and I've been looking around trying to find a way to

choose a new one.
I'm really clueless when it comes to baking, so I thought you guys could

recommend one

Price should be average, I'm not looking for a professional oven.

Thanks!

Have moved many a time with many ovens but cannot recommend St George enough. For the extra dollars you will spend it is well worth it. Have had Westinghouse, Kleenmaid, Euromaid and others which escape me but have always remembered my first oven a St George. I promised myself many years ago that when I reached the house I was to stay in until I was taken out in a box I would buy a St George Oven. Did this nearly four years ago (the double) and could not be happier. For the size - 600 ml - it has huge capacity in both ovens - the bottom oven alone is equal to the Kleenmaid I disposed of.

I have Wolf double ovens and have been quite happy with them. Know why? Because this electric oven cooks quickly and evenly. I really like this oven because it has many convenient features, including a self-cleaning mode, temperature probe and a bread-proofing setting, which allows you to proof bread dough in the oven.

Whatever you do DO NOT BUY ST GEORGE, I went for double ovens, gas cooktop and electric grill and I have had nothing but trouble with all of them, the company are useless with no sort of warranty or support.
