Boiled Custard

  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 600 ml milk
  • vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks
  1. Blend cornflour with a little milk.
  2. Beat egg yolks and sugar with a little milk.
  3. Place remainder of milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  4. Stir in blended cornflour and allow to boil for 2 minutes,
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool,
  6. Gradually add egg yolks and beat well.
  7. Cook over a saucepan of hot water, stirring all the time until mixture thickens. Do not allow to boil.
  8. Add vanilla.
  9. Makes approximately 2½ cups
